Before you go shopping, do you find yourself researching an item, looking at reviews? Do you read the comments of five-star reviews, as well as why someone would only leave a one-star review?

Like online reviews, your Plexus® testimonial is an important part of building your Plexus business. Customers want to know how Plexus products can impact their health and happiness, and Ambassadors want to know why a Plexus business may be right for them.

In this week’s Plexus Way, we share tips on how you can write a great (and compliant) Plexus testimonial.

The Power of Word-of-Mouth Marketing

Many Ambassadors who joined Plexus did so because they heard about the amazing benefits of Plexus products or the business opportunity. The key to a good testimonial is to be genuine and authentic in how you describe Plexus. It’s best to use your “real” voice when describing your Plexus success, rather than sounding too scripted as it can make your story seem less authentic.

When sharing your testimonial, it’s okay to use the claims that are listed on the Plexus website for our products. When you do, you are required to use the appropriate disclaimers and disclosures. Here are a couple examples:

  • If you have struggled to lose weight on your own, TriPlex can help support your weight loss goals.*
  • With just one capsule a day, EDGE changes the way you are able to live by providing healthy, sustained energy and increased mental focus.*
  • MegaX Provides support for a healthy heart*

All of the examples above are found on the product page of the Plexus website.

If your testimonial is a weight loss claim, you must prominently display the appropriate weight loss disclosure. For example, “Slim is fantastic! I lost 10 lbs. in 2 months.” This testimonial must be accompanied by the Slim weight loss disclosure:

“Participants in an independent, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical study, who used one pack of Slim twice a day lost an average of 5.45 pounds in 8 weeks, while the placebo group lost an average of 3.12 pounds. There was a trend to weight decrease with Slim group (p=0.059)”

Also, remember that you must disclose in your advertisements, including social media posts, that promote the products or the opportunity, that you are a Plexus Ambassador. You may want to us “#AD” or #PlexusAmbassador” or #Sponsored.”

In addition, when making claims about income, it’s important to represent the facts accurately so that it’s clear what an average or typical Ambassador might expect to earn from their business:

  • “Thanks to Plexus, I’m able to take my kids to the movies more often.”*
  • “My Plexus business helps me out with my weekly grocery money.” *
  • “The extra income I receive as a Plexus Ambassador means my husband and I can enjoy a date night occasionally.” *

** Plexus makes no guarantees on income, as such representations may be misleading. Your success depends on your effort, commitment, skill and leadership abilities, and how effectively you exercise those qualities. Please see the Plexus Annual Income Disclosure Statement.

Things to Leave Out of Your Testimonial

When sharing your Plexus success story, it’s important to remember that Plexus products are never used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Statements that include medical conditions or curing pain or chronic conditions should never be used.
