Do you know someone who has a poor diet because they love soda and processed foods? Or maybe you know someone who doesn’t exercise or has poor sleep habits? If so, that person likely suffers from symptoms such as bloating, constipation, tiredness, mental fog, bad breath or more. In fact, 60% of Americans experience these symptoms every day.

In this week’s Plexus Way, we highlight the various tools available to you that you can use to help explain dysbiosis and gut health.

What is Dysbiosis?

Your gut is home to trillions of microorganisms that help your body perform various functions, and can also impact your mood. In fact, 70% of your immune cells live in your gut. An everyday modern lifestyle can have a negative impact for your gut – things such processed foods, artificial sweeteners, high stress, lack of sleep, among other things.

When this happens, the “bad” microorganisms essentially take over, and it creates an imbalance. That imbalance is called dysbiosis and can cause some of the symptoms we described above.
